We are getting close to the half-way point in our fundraising campaign to reach our goal of one million dollars. As you can see, money keeps coming in each week, but we are a distance from our goal. With the economy the shape it is in, the high gasoline prices, and the inflation of our food and supplies, we know that our budgets are tight.What can each of us do?
Of course, the biggest thing is continual prayer. Pray that God will honor our request, not for the sake of a new building alone, but for the opportunities it presents and the influence we can have to meet the needs of our community. We continue to hold fundraisers and give what we can.
Pray that God puts in your heart the charity and means of giving at the amount He would have us give. However, the real purpose of this short article is to remind and encourage each of us to tell family, friends and the community of our project.
They say that "absence makes the heart grow fonder," however, in this case absence just allows us to forget our responsibility. We need to talk up the new building project to our community, so they know something is really happening at North Baptist Church. The more people that realize we are building to create more opportunities, the greater the likelihood that people outside of our present church family will want to share our vision and give to this wonderful cause. So, let's each one of us, constantly share with our friends, family, neighbors and community the good things that are happening at North and we can watch the work of God prevail.
